About Us

This group started from my passion for the Cook Island art of tivaivai tuitui and crochet ever since i was a young girl back in Aitutaki, but this did not eventuate as a group until in my latter years of life due to work commitments and raising my children and some grandchildren however, I had sewn and crocheted many items which was used for the family only. This is a not for profit organization solely dependent and funded by our mamas selling hand made tivaivais in the way of raffles.....The group has only been running for the last two years which myself and seven other mamas from the local area of Manukau city. We come together once a week to plan and discuss our current project, cut and sew pillow cases, cushion covers and bedspread for family members, friends and special occasions and also discuss up and coming events in the community and any other concerns that comes to mind.
